Support Programs for Social Engagement and Service-Learning in Higher Education

CLAYSS develops financial and technical support programs for educational institutions and social organizations that stimulate the development of solidarity service-learning programs.

ARTS

The Programme supports 11 schools and institutions of Higher Education in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia and offers training to teachers, managers, CSO leaders, public officials linked to education and students involved in service-learning and artistic education projects.

BRAZIL

BRAZIL

Born in 2017, this program aims to work on the promotion and expansion of the pedagogical proposal of solidarity learning and service in the Brazilian educational system. From CLAYSS we participated in the foundation of the Brazilian Network of Solidarity Learning in November 2017, supporting through actions of teacher training, face-to-face and virtual, taking part in educational congresses in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, granting scholarships to the International Service-Learning Seminars in Argentina and developing specific pedagogical materials for Brazil.

COLOMBIA

COLOMBIA

CLAYSS is an ally in the National Peace Education Program, EDUCAPAZ, made up of civil society organizations that work for Popular Rural Education and Crese Education (citizen education, for reconciliation and socio-emotional) aimed at educational communities. Colombian women affected by the armed conflict that lasted more than 50 years. This Program brings to educational institutions the pedagogy of Learning and Solidarity Service as a school strategy to overcome the differences that for so many years have divided the Colombian people.

 

Central and Eastern Europe

Central and Eastern Europe

Since April 2016 CLAYSS has been supporting partners in different countries in Central and Eastern Europe  through training, facilitation, design of bibliography specific to the region, technical assistance to promote service-learning at a regional level. Since these activities began, partners involved have been meeting online and onsite to promote exchange, mutual understanding and mutual learning, understanding that cooperation among key actors provides support and makes service-learning in the region stronger. The Central and Eastern European Service-Learning Network has developed Regional Service-Learning Weeks in different cities around the region and is now in the process of designing a Regional Service-Learning Award to be launched in 2020. 

PERU

This program was formally born in 2017 with the aim of promoting the pedagogical proposal of Learning and Solidarity Service in the Peruvian educational system. We have supported this development through classroom and virtual teacher training actions, granting scholarships to International Service-Learning Seminars in Argentina and developing specific pedagogical materials for Peru.

UNISERVITATE

UNISERVITATE is a global and networked program that is constituted through a process of permanent development and the integration of new actors and institutions from a series of regional nodes strategically distributed throughout the world. Promotes service-learning in Catholic Higher Education.
